Water Lily in pond
Water Lily in pond
51/2 by 71/2 inches
Pastels on Pastelmat
This is my first attempt at painting a water lily. I enjoyed observing all the colors which normally go unnoticed. I would surely like to do more flowers in the future. The reference came from the RIL at Wetcanvas. Thank you Ceci for the beautiful reference picture.

Lemons and Flower
I painted this for the October challenge at the Paint and Draw Together blog. The reference picture did not appear to be as challenging initially as it proved later as I continued working on it. Nevertheless, it was fun and a very good learning experience.

The First Post
After having thought of this day for so long, well, finally I'm there!. Though much needs to be learnt and I'll slowly be editing as I get the hang of it. My sincere thanks to everyone at Wetcanvas. The inspiration and guidance I received there was and will always remain invaluable. It has got me (hopefuly) started again where I left years ago.
Where's the cream?
Pastel on Pastelmat card
This was done from an image taken from the RIL at Wetcanvas (my thanks to the photograper), using a mix of pastels including Rembrandts, Rowneys, Derwents and a set of Talen's which actually belonged to my mother. She tells me that her dad had brought it for her when she was in Art School almost 45 years ago!. The colours look as fresh as they were bought yesterday.
